Surf the fabled waves of Laguna with La Vida Laguna. We offer expert instruction, including one on one surf lessons as well as group surf lessons. Your lesson will be two hours in duration, and includes a wetsuit, leash, and a soft foam board - perfect for beginners.
We meet at our surf garage across the street from Thalia Beach. You’ll be outfitted with a wetsuit, and then head to the beach, where we'll start on the sand with some basics: positioning, paddling, wave etiquette, popping up, proper stance and balance.
Then we'll paddle out and catch some waves! Our instructors are all experienced watermen and women whose paramount goal is to get you up and riding a wave, while also insuring your safety. Our two hour lessons have a high success rate of getting people up and riding the waves. Once you do, you'll be hooked.
And if you want to return for a repeat lesson, or you want to rent a board for the day, we offer discounts on both to those who have taken a lesson.

Thalia Street
The best place to surf Laguna Beach is Thalia Street. It's the most consistent beginner wave. And it’s right in town, where parents can watch, take pictures, go shopping or grab a snack. Our Laguna Beach surf lessons start on the beach with a brief introduction to paddling out, getting into the lineup, wave judgment and etiquette, paddling into a wave, popping up, and how to fall away from your board. Then we paddle out into the lineup and practice surfing the famous waves of Southern California.
Directions
We meet at 987 Glenneyre Street, Laguna Beach 92651. Here we will outfit you with a wetsuit, a board, sunblock, and then we'll walk across the street to Thalia Street. Click here for maps and directions.What to bring:
